I couldn’t help myself that I ordered directly from Colourpop‘s website a couple from their My Little Pony Collection, since I sometimes get from resellers (to support them). Man, my childhood in makeup! ♥ I was very excited when I first heard about the collection. 😀
I usually do swatches first for the blog and Instagram before I actually use new makeup, but I just had to use the eyeshadow palette right away. Oh, before I show my FOTN selfies, I’d like to remind that I always let my brows grow and keep them that way until I feel they need to be groomed. Anyway… On to the photos!
I call this look “Shabby Chic” because of the lip color. ☺ Excuse the pimple and tiny bumps btw because my face went through purging.

This was my makeup for New Year’s.
The family and I only stayed home, so it seemed this was too much. But I wanted to play with makeup. 😛 I also missed wearing my Mac Sin.
Yesterday, I posted in my website a review of NYX Liquid Suede in Stone Fox–A deep gray with blue undertone liquid creme lipstick. I mentioned that I did a look with it.
With a gray lipstick, it’s easy to look dead or washed out. So I did this makeup somewhat as a guide to help create a look to match with the rockin’ Stone Fox. 🙂 Tbh, I forgot most of the products I used, but you don’t have to limit yourself to the same products. You can use what you already have or something similar.
It all started with the The Body Shop’s Dusty Rose Lip and Cheek Stain. There’s nothing like having natural-looking pink flushed cheeks to brighten my face and make me look more awake (especially during long hours at work!). Then when I was persuaded to stay for a night in Shangri-La Fort because it was already late when I got done with gym, I only had my mascara, powder, concealer, and Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain Honey to use. My face looked flat and pale, but the Balm Stain really gave my face the ‘life’ it needed. My liking for pinks have rekindled. 🙂
my birth monththis month started, I switched up my makeup with more pinks–Mostly lippies that are great for either day or evening looks. I haven’t thoroughly checked my collection, but these are my picks so far:
Managed to purchase a Silk Crème Oil-Free Photo Edition Foundation from Laura Mercier this summer, and it is so divine, it’s fast becoming my favorite foundation.
To start off, it is unfortunate this has the same name as an older foundation as it is completely different so there will be comparisons. This foundation leave a matte finish and can maintain a long lasting, smooth, oil-free finish. It promises 12-hour of wear, and it stays on pretty well, but oily areas will definitely begin seeing shine in a couple hours or less, even if powder is applied afterward. That’s not a deal-breaker, just don’t expect this to control oil for half the day.

I mentioned many, many times that my T-zone gets super oily and that the oiliness has gotten worse lately. It might be the weather, change of diet since I’m incorporating healthier choices, or skin care products though I use the same. As much as I liked the L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup foundation, at some point, it started to just settle on my face and I would unknowingly get some on my fingers. I found out when I left a streak of foundation on a work document. I can’t even touch my face out of fear that I might transfer on other important stuff. Good thing I almost emptied the bottle, so I had a valid excuse to buy. I searched for foundations recommended for oily skin and saw CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in an online list of ‘best foundations for oily skin.’
