Let’s see if their claim is true.
This CoverGirl Outlast All-day Lipcolor is the first lipstain I have that my Mum gave me. She gave Always Rosy. It’s a subtle pink shade that is almost natural.
There are two tubes in the box — the lipstain itself and the moisturizer that works as a topcoat.
When I got this, I was not aware of lipstains. I thought it was just an ordinary lip gloss, only the very pigmented kind. I applied carelessly and it was a disaster! I applied a thick coat of on my lower lip so I would only have to press my lips together to even it out on my whole lips. I didn’t know that mustn’t be done, so my lips looked like it was applied with dried paint. It was hard to remove! That made me not use this product for quite some time. I tried it again because it would be a shame to just throw it away. I also like the color. So, on my next try, I applied a thin coat. The shade I have is already very pigmented that a thin coat is just right. It also dries quickly, so it is not recommended to press your lips together after application. The moisturizer is applied after.
Some say the lipstain gives a dry feeling on the lips, so applying the moisturizer is a must for most. It doesn’t stay too long on the lips, but it keeps my lips from feeling all dry. I ♥ the moisturizer because of the very sweet scent and taste. The lipstain on the other hand, even if it seems like true paint, doesn’t taste or smell like it.
The lipstain does last long though I’m not sure if that 16 hours is true. I never bothered to keep track of the time. Eat, drink, smoke, or
Frenchkiss — the color is still there. I don’t have to apply a second coating of the lipstain. Application just takes getting used to. Do not try what I did because it is really tough to remove if you make a mistake. Though, just last night, I learned that the Maybelline Makeup Remover for the eyes and lips does the job. Review of that to come. 🙂
I learned to love this product. It’s the best thing to have on a toxic work day. Saves me from having to worry if I still have my lipstick on or if I already look sick. Not only does the lipstain last long on your lips, the tube itself will. It won’t be so bad to purchase one or two even if you’re on a tight budget. There are many shades to choose from. There are even neutral or nudes and browns. I will definitely purchase, but a different shade. 🙂
