I already failed my personal challenge of one week’s reviews of lip glosses right after _one_ post. ^^;;; But I’ll try to make up for the past three days. Today, I’ll be showing the Laura Mercier Mini Lip Glace Collection – Bold Brights and reviewing one Lip Glace from it. I have another to be up later although not a lip gloss review.
Anyway, the Mini Lip Glace Collection – Bold Brights was part of Laura Mercier’s Holiday/Winter release last year. The moment I saw it from a few beauty bloggers, I knew I just had to have it. It was an awesome gift for myself that I remember forgetting that stressful day at work when I got this. 🙂
A high-shine, perfectly pigmented lip gloss with rich, long-lasting colour and brilliant shine that creates the appearance of fuller lips. Any skin tone is virtually enhanced by creating a subtle contrast in texture.
The Bold Brights Collection contains five permanent Lip Glace contained in a flip top box with cute cartoon prints. You can see the prints more under direct light. (See left side of the box in picture above.)
Shades range from light pink to deep red.
Sorry, the line-up of the glosses in above picture are not the same as the prior. ^^; From left to right:
- Camella — Carnation pink
- Poppy — Deep red
- Azalea — Light pink
- BonBon — Pink-orange
- Grenadine — Bright red
For PhP1950, you get all these. I believe it’s a worth buy if you want to get into Laura Mercier’s lip glosses. I’ve used Azalea, Grenadine, and BonBon so far. The most used is BonBon and second is Grenadine. I ♥ them both. 😀
I’ve been using Grenadine a lot again, so I’ll review it before BonBon.
Grenadine is a bright, pigmented red lip gloss. I can already get enough color from a single swipe and it is buildable to a deep red. It’s not tacky and feels light on the lips even if I swipe on a lot nor do I feel it would bleed. The smell reminds me of caramel candy which I very like. Longevity is three to four hours; I get a red stain when the gloss is gone. I have no need for lip balms with this one as it doesn’t dry my lips and applies on evenly and smoothly without accentuating lines.
Each mini lip glace is 2.8g. I find they last long enough before you get tired of them.
The brush tip applicator is just the right size for my lips. I only hate that it doesn’t seem to close tightly because the gloss gets to the cap and leaves a mess on the screw area. So I always make sure it’s straight up in my cosmetic case or bag.
The picture below doesn’t do justice for this lovely bright red lip gloss. -_-
I highly recommend Grenadine. Those afraid of reds may consider trying it. It’s not scary to wear red lipstick. 😀
The mini glaces can’t be bought individually and I don’t know if the Bold Brights Collection is still available, but you can get this in its regular size. I’m sure it’s always available in their counters. 😀
