First MAC among the cosmetics I own as a matter of fact. About time I review them since I have used them long enough.
Do you remember this post? Among the three, I’ll be reviewing first the NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage. (If I review in order of my purchase, it should be the MAC first, then Laura Mercier, and NARS would be the last.)
The NARS Pure Matte Lipstick was supposed to still be in my wishlist. I just couldn’t keep myself from buying it right away after when I saw this picture of Emma Stone rockin’ the lipstick:
I was checking Estee Lauder’s range of lipsticks at Rustan’s Makati and the Fuschia Fever was recommended to me. I wanted a light and bright pink at first, but when I put it on and checked a few minutes later, I realized how the color is so stunning; very eye-catching. I bought it with some other Estee Lauder gifts (for me). 😀
It lasted for hours too! My tube has yet to be opened so no pics of the actual lipstick for now.
My L’Absolu Rouge is from a three-piece set which is a gift from my generous Aunt/Ninang. 😀 I wanted a different shade, instead she gave me this set. I’m not complaining. Three lipsticks against one? I’ll gladly and gratefully take the three-piece.
Aah~ More than a year since I had this lipstick for this review to be done.
Lancôme’s L’Absolu Rouge line boasts of having advanced replenishing and reshaping lipcolor. It contains Pro-Xylane™ that keeps lips moist, soft and comfortable for up to 8 hours. The SPF12 provides lips with protection. The regular-sized L’Absolu Rouge is 4.2ml/3.99/0.14oz; similar to Laura Mercier’s Crème Lip Colour. I believe all L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks have a satin finish. They also have a flowery scent that I quite like.
Glad to see Joiz has blogged! w00t! LOL~ Well, we have been busy. 😛 My backlog in this blog has not lessened even a bit with what frequency of my posting. There are just some that have most of my attention. Anyway, enough (again) of the excuse for not blogging for weeks(!). This is no review. Instead, I’ll be showing my firsts from the following — Laura Mercier, NARS, and MAC. 🙂 Some of you may be surprised why I only got a MAC product at this time. Considering those three products, MAC is most likely the popular one. It’s like expected of a makeup/beauty enthusiast to have one in their stash. You know I told myself I’ll never have a MAC product nor own one. I have reasons for keeping away from MAC for so long. ^^;;; But that has changed after reading beauty blogs with almost endless reviews of many MAC products and the discovery of an irresistible red which you’ll find out what in a bit.
The MAC Ruffian Collection was released last June 18, 2012 in North America. The collection includes three lipsticks and three manicures. One of the lipsticks caught my eye.
I wondered if it has huge gold specks, but it doesn’t. Here’s a swatch by the awesome Christine:

I found out not too long ago that my brother changed the settings of my camera that’s why most of my FOTDs and FOTNs were either grainy or blurry. Lesson learned — Double-check settings of camera before taking pictures. Stupid of me not to think of that when I wondered all the time why the quality of the pictures didn’t look too well. Oh, since I browsed through previous FOTDs and FOTNs, I realized how I _slightly_ got better in makeup application.
Moving on to the point of this post…
Sorry, ladies. This is another Estee Lauder product. ^^;;;
Estee Lauder Long Lasting Rouge in Nectarine is one of my favorite lipsticks. This is under their Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick line, but what I have is just in a regular round blue plastic packaging instead of the classy looking one you’ll see in their website.
Saw this over at Lotus Palace‘s blog:
The color is so pretty that I want it even though I have no idea if the color suits me. Anyone know where I can get this locally? If it’s not available here, maybe Kat could help since she’s going to SG? LOL XDDD Ordering online is not an option for me. I haven’t even received my first batch of GetGlue stickers.

I don’t think NYX is a popular brand. Unless you’re really into cosmetics, you would have definitely heard of them. NYX has a huge line of cosmetics. They’re known for their affordability. Based on the NYX website:
NYX offers the best quality of cosmetics at attractive prices. Yes, that’s right, you can splurge without guilt. This has made NYX the fastest growing cosmetic company in the United States. The ultramodern and stylish packaging fused with the huge selection of highly pigmented colors continues to catch the eyes of many hip and sophisticated makeup gurus and has become a fave in their kits.
