(Throw)Back to Basics (and an FOTD)

Welcome to the first Thursday of 2016! Happy new year everyone! Did you get all glam and fabulous when the ball dropped? Me? I was asleep before 12midnight. Does that mean I get to sleep a lot more this year? I hope so! My eyebags are a disaster lately. We’ll get back to that later.

As I said, it’s a Thursday. You know what that means? Throwback! It’s also the start of a new year so I try to tidy things up a bit. Get things BACK to the bare essentials.

If you know me, I’ve been lugging a big pouch of make-up for the past so and so years. Today, however, I’ve managed to reduce my daily make-up/kikay kit to this small black fishnet bag.

Sunday FOTD with messy brows

This makeup was done real quick. The eye makeup is quite messy and I haven’t groomed my brows because I’m letting them grow. Maybe I shouldn’t have posted this, but what the heck… I still look human and I like this look. 😀

Oh, my face reacted to the bb cream.

Estee Lauder and Paul & Joe Liquid Concealers

I’ve only used two liquid foundations ever. Instead of separate posts, I’ll just make one long one.

Estee Lauder Smoothing Creme Concealer in Medium 03

Estee Lauder Smoothing Creme Concealer

This is my first liquid concealer (but not exactly that in the picture) and it was a gift from either my Mom or Grandma’s sister. I forgot from whom. Anyway, the first time I used it, I was an instant convert to liquid concealer. Coverage is great for the dark area and fine lines under my eyes. Longevity is 8 hours and more if the day is good. 😛 Its consistency is thick and it settles quite fast, so I need to apply quickly. Estée Lauder, as we all know, is a high-end and costly brand. I finish this concealer to the last drop. But for its worth, this tube can last for months on.

That pretty Paul & Joe compact mirror and a notice on images

Paul & Joe Compact Mirror 002

Not only combs, I also need to have mirrors in all the bags I would use for the week, month, or season. Because I end up forgetting to bring my mirror whenever I switch bags, I decided to just use this already.

Paul & Joe and Ornamental Pressed Powder Review

HAPPY NEW YEAR! And late Christmas greetings to you pretty ladies! And maybe gents if there are some who accidentally stumbled upon this humble site. 🙂

I skipped all the Christmas/Holiday sets last year because of my very tight budget. Also, I still have lots of makeup that have yet to be used. There was also that trip last month where I had to save up for too. But those didn’t really keep me from buying at all. I bought some Paul & Joe cosmetics. There’s a (yearly) pop-up store near my workplace and they sold Paul & Joe really cheap amongst a vast selection of perfumes and eau de toilette.

I forgot where I put the mirror. (¯―¯٥)

I got a matte foundation, eyeshadows, a mirror, concealer, sample foundation (supposedly for my trip but ended up not using), lip glosses, and pressed face powder. This is the first time I’m to use Paul & Joe makeup. The first that I used among these is the Paul & Joe Ornamental Pressed Powder for alternate use with Laura Mercier Loose Powder because I love that, it’s my HG face powder, and I just don’t want to use it up quickly. 😛

Sale Alert: Paul & Joe End-of-Season Sale

I am tempted to go! I wish they’d open a branch in Shangri-La Mall. Going all the way to Rustan’s Makati is a hassle!

I like the Swan-designed palette and lipstick though I’d get the lipstick first. Then again, the one with the paisley design has a prettier color. I hope to see swatches soon. 🙂
