Ok. Ok. I was a total noob to beauty, skincare, and makeup back then, alright? Now, after 9 years, I can confidently say that… I’m still a noob! 😅 BUT I’m now a more confident noob (that’s a scary combination, right?).
Anyway, I have no excuse, I really don’t. I just never got around to answering the questionnaire and I’m doing it now.
Happy Holidays, my loves!
I am the epitome of the stereotypical millennial with low EQ for not stopping myself from buying a few Guerlain beauties as my own birthday gift last month. I can also consider these my Christmas gifts to myself since I got some of these Early December. But if you visit our Instagram and see what other things I have purchased, can we really consider these Christmas gifts as well? Really? 😜😅
Let’s not overthink it, here they are…
Another NARS release, which was a surprise to me as I didn’t see any news of its release, is the Wanted Velvet Lip Glide Set. I like a lot of NARS lip products, most especially the Velvet Lip Glide. I knew I had to have this set (with Becca from porepatrol) the moment I saw this in store. 🙂
I got my hands on the CoverGirl TruNaked Nudes and Goldens eyeshadows palettes before they were released here because I couldn’t wait. Actually, I didn’t have a good experience with an affordable/drugstore eyeshadow. It was a quad of neutrals that looked muddy on me and would darken over hours of wear. I didn’t like it. But I hate not using makeup or putting makeup to waste, so I just used the dark shades for my eyebrows. Since then, my eyeshadows of choice were from high-end brands. But the postive reviews on the CoverGirl TruNaked palettes got me intrigued and their swatches were promising.
CoverGirl only had three TruNaked palettes at the time–Nudes, Goldens, and Roses. I would have gotten Roses too, but I wasn’t into pinks. Read on further for a review per palette. 🙂
I’m finally doing a project pan!
Until a couple of years ago, I always had to empty or hit pan before I buy new makeup. Eventually, with all the seemingly good releases and my unexpected liking for Dior, I’ve amassed a lot of makeup that emptying or hitting pan has become a challenge. So I’m doing that challenge this year. Not to buy new ones–except skincare, of course–but to lessen clutter and make way for still unopened makeup.
Before 2017 ended, I already listed the makeup and skincare I want to use up this 2018. Some like contour and bronzers could be really difficult to hit pan on, but I will do my best!
I couldn’t help myself that I ordered directly from Colourpop‘s website a couple from their My Little Pony Collection, since I sometimes get from resellers (to support them). Man, my childhood in makeup! ♥ I was very excited when I first heard about the collection. 😀
I usually do swatches first for the blog and Instagram before I actually use new makeup, but I just had to use the eyeshadow palette right away. Oh, before I show my FOTN selfies, I’d like to remind that I always let my brows grow and keep them that way until I feel they need to be groomed. Anyway… On to the photos!
This post was supposed to be published one week into my vacation, but my brain cells and eyes wouldn’t cooperate whenever I return to the hotel. Each day was just exhausting. Now it’s been a week since I returned to the PH and… I really should publish this already. Also, WordPress for iOS is shitty. Media uploads don’t work 99% of the
Anyway, I brought the skincare I only need, which is still everything that’s part of my morning and evening routines. 😆 Except, most are from different brands and not my usual or go-to.
My office had its annual outing a couple of weekends ago. I was in charge of our itinerary, so I planned visits to an underground cemetery, spring water falls, a man-made lake, and an organic farm. Details of the outing will be in my blog. Instead, let me show you the makeup I brought.
