Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107

Yay, it’s already Friday! I’ve been looking forward to the weekend because of my recent sleep troubles. I want to get a long shut-eye. Gotta work, work, work, so this day will go fast. 😀

Before I attemptget to work, here’s a quick post on another lipstick I’ve been using for a couple of months now as my after-work or night time look. It’s not just a July pick.

First impressions on the Clinique Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow in Black Honey Glow

I have been waiting for the local Clinique stores to have the Clinique Pop™ Oil Lip & Cheek Glow. I didn’t even know that Black Honey is among the shades. It was good timing that co-blogger Joiz and I was at Clinique (Rustan’s Makati) last weekend for the Lip & Smile event since they just had the Pop Oils in stock for only about a week at the time. The shade I bought was Black Honey Glow.

I’ve used the oil for a few times already since I bought it. Here are my first impressions:

  • Consistency is slightly thick (thus its fluid-gel formula), so it takes some effort to get a natural blush finish.
  • I love the dewy finish on the cheeks!
  • It doesn’t come off sheer on the lips as I thought it would be like the Clinique Superbalm™ Moisturizing Gloss in the same shade.
  • It leaves a red stain when the gloss and shine is gone.

I’m really loving the Pop Oil so far that it makes me want to get another one. I’ll get all if I could! 😀

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Touch of Spice

My day or work lipstick for this month is Maybelline’s Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Touch of Spice. It is a matte deep brown-y pink shade, though looks mauve pink in the tube, that was highly coveted when it was first released here. I didn’t even get to see many of the Color Sensational Creamy Mattes range. Maybe Maybelline had too few stocks per store, people hoarded, or I was just too late to the party. LOL!

For a change, I’ll start with the cons.

An oldie, but still a goodie – The Korres Goddess Beauty LE Color Collection

Korres is one brand that I so want to love and be a favorite, but that they’re not easily accessible so that makes it impossible. I was on a trip to US at the time they released the Goddess Beauty, which contains several of their makeup. I knew I could get it. I could try several Korres products in one purchase. But I went to a couple of Sephora stores (I remember my mom complaining) and didn’t find it. Then I went to a branch near the hotel I was staying at and found a few. I thought hard whether or not I should get it. I browsed the store twice, but I knew it had taken my heart. LOLOL!

First impressions: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips

There’s a huge hype with the Colourop Ultra Matte Lips among beauty fans, with so many good reviews and very few (and very) minor drawbacks. I knew I had to try them too especially that I’m always for lipsticks that have great longevity. They say the Ultra Matte liquid lipstics do last long.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips has a wide range of colors. That just means, for me, more colors to like and want. O_O But these four I really really like especially Kapow and Bumble.

City Color Be Matte Lipsticks in Brianda and Gwen

I have a few matte lipsticks already, but lately I’ve been buying more especially after discovering Wet n’ Wild’s Megalast Lip Color. I’ve been on a lookout for other budget matte lipsticks since. I found City Color’s Be Matte Lipsticks while I searched for Wet n’ Wild’s Vamp It Up (or was it Cherry Bomb?) at Pure Beauty Glorietta. I bought two shades, which were on sale as a Valentine’s Day promo.

The palette I often grab atm

Normally, I stick to one palette for a month then move on to another by next because I have so many! I meant to use only the Laura Mercier Holiday 2013 Palette for this month, but I can’t keep myself from also using In theBalm of Your Hand.

When I saw the palette online, I knew I had to have it because it has Mary-Lou Manizer, Bahama Mama, and an Instain blush. Oh my goodness, I so badly wanted it! I made sure I had the dough before I checked Beauty Bar though, so I can quickly purchase it in case they have it. Of course it was a happy ending for moi. 😀

Before I go on my review, just an fyi that the lip colors aren’t included in this review.

The almost forgotten lip swatches

Adding to my ‘Choice of Lippies for End of 2015‘ post are these lip swatches, which I honestly forgot. I was too excited! Anyway, on to the lip swatches:

Wet n Wild MegaLast Lipstick in Bare It All (902C)

MAC Sin (Matte)

MAC Sin looks creamy in the photo, but it eventually loses that creamy finish.

NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick in Cruella

My lips were dry in the above photo, but it wasn’t because of the NARS lip pencil. I know I should have scrubbed before the lip swatch. If I did though, that means another day/s delay of this post. 😛
