I had my nails done! Ok, I know, it’s mundane, but hear me out. I do the dishes, do hand wash laundry every now and then on delicates, I cook, I clean, so nails are usually just cleaned but not polished. I clip my nails but I seldom get manicures. So seldom that it feels like a treat for myself when I do. And this sure is a treat to myself because as soon as I can leave my house, that first thing I plotted to do was go to Dior and get myself these two awesome blue shades from the Dior Summer 2018 collection.
Zoya Gwin was introduced in the Reverie Collection 2010. Gwin is orange or coral-toned and iridescent of green and gold. I didn’t think I would love this color when I bought it with two other Zoya nail polishes, which were supposed to be the only polishes I wanted to get. My friend Phoebe insisted I also get Gwin and I remember the Beauty & Butter attendant being an enabler (I don’t mean that negatively). LOL
The consistency isn’t too think or thin, which makes the application just heaven. I’m right-handed, so the nail polishes on my right hand nails are fail–Uneven and streaky. But this nail polish is almost fool-proof even with more than two coats. I ♥ it.
A former intern wore nude nail polish. I got envious because not only did it look so classy and neat, but I thought it was great for travel. A chipped nude nail polish wouldn’t instantly be noticed. So I searched for a nude shade that would look good on me. I should have asked the intern too what she was wearing. ^^;;;
I probably have two years worth of amassed used and empties that need to be disposed. Be warned: This two-part blog may be long.
Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Magnolia Blossom
This was a big favorite, but even if it works for my hands and arms, it wasn’t moisturizing enough for my always-dry feet. The scent is both floral and fruity. More on the former. The scent longevity of this body lotion is amaaaaaa~zing as it usually lasts for more than eight hours. I could forget about spraying on perfume or cologne.
I might have bought another bottle or of another variant if Bath & Body Works didn’t discontinue this scent.
Bath & Body Works HandiBac in Fresh Lemon
My dad bought several HandiBacs in a variety of scents. Fresh Lemon was one of them. I couldn’t figure out how this worked at first. When I did and it was like dry hand soap (like a counterpart of dry shampoo), then I knew it would be better than an AlcoGel. Unfortunately, Bath & Body Works have discontinued this too even if these sold like hot pancakes. :/
Rosa Rosa was my nail color before I gave my nails a break since they were getting a stain and yellowish. I have the sample size of the Estee Lauder Nail Lacquer which I think is enough for me. It takes me a while to almost never in reusing colors.
Rosa Rosa is a slightly-muted rose color nail polish. This is the kind of red you would prefer for any day.
Because I’ve been buying nail polishes lately like they’re candy (LOL!), it’s about time I cull those I’ve kept for so many years and should have been disposed a long time ago too. I only have a few to throw anyway. Most of which are those really very affordable ones you find in department stores. I got these at The Landmark Makati.
I got envious of the many beauty video bloggers I’ve been watching lately because of their nails. Since I couldn’t help it anymore (this was two weekends ago, actually), I went out just to buy some some nail polishes.
I’ve already tried the two nail polishes, but reviews today will be except China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Tree Hugger.
The most important for me in the Burt’s Bees Tips and Toes Kit:
Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
A soothing blend of natural ingredients to nourish weak nails and soften dry cuticles.
My toenails were battered from wearing high heels and closed shoes for hours in a day that’s why they ended up dry and cracked. I have heard of cuticle creams, but from online browsing did I discover how popular the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is. Because they say it is effective.
I haven’t pampered my feet and hands for quite a while, so last week I decided to have a foot spa, manicure, and pedicure.
Nail It! seemed to be the only nail salon in the mall that I could afford then. I made a 5:30PM appointment with their Glorietta 3 branch. When I arrived, the first thing they said to me was they were not doing services that night anymore. I was disappointed and furious. I then remembered Let’s Face It! has feet and hands services too. There was only PhP10 difference between the services I wanted from both salons. No biggie. I actually think it was best I went somewhere else. Nail It! seemed disorganized and the smell of nail polish in their salon was too strong.
