So here’s my body and skin care that I’ve been using since this year started. I think I should switch or add sunblock and SPF products in there. It’s summer time! But several of these are nearly empty, so I’ll definitely start using sunblock and other for summer products. 🙂
I’ve already reviewed Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. The other products have individual photos except for the Giovanni Salt Scrub. I don’t have it with me right now while I’m in ‘home number 2.’ The photo will have to make do. 😛
Giovanni Salt Scrub in Cool Mint Lemonade
I seldom use the salt scrub. As much as I want to use once or twice I week, I either forget or don’t want to. I don’t want to because one of one reason — That it feels slightly tacky or sticky. Thorough soap and water wash or towel wipe doesn’t help. I may not use it for the meantime because of the humid, warm summer. The tackiness mixed with sweat is gross. I do like it for what it is expected of it. My skin feel smooth (once the stickiness is gone). The ‘cool mint’ makes my baths refreshing though. The scent is surprisingly quite strong that I could still smell it even after application of a scented body lotion.
Bath & Body Works HandiBac Moisturing Hand Lotion – Japanese Cherry Blossoms
HandiBacs were one of those Bath & Body products I hoarded because they were my lifesavers when I spent two winters in the US.
This is a staple in my office bag. It’s often very chilly in the office. The air is also dry, sucking the moisture off my skin. The hand soap in our pantry does the same. So I apply this as often as needed or when the lines on my hands start to show. It keeps my hands moisturized until the next time I wash my hands. I also love the scent. It makes me want to sniff my fingers all day. (Sounds pervy. LOL!)
The HandiBac is anti-bacterial and is like an alcogel supposedly, but I prefer to use it after hand wash.
Bath & Body Works Body Lotion Dancing Waters
I loved the alcogel of Dancing Waters because it is reminiscent of expensive perfume. I heard Dancing Waters is a hit scent that I couldn’t believe Bath & Body Works discontinued it. I didn’t think it was true because I still saw it in their website. I couldn’t order (for obvious reasons when you live in the Philippines), but we had a vacation in the US and that was my chance to hoard (again). :D; But I really couldn’t find it anymore even after going to several stores. Then Landmark Makati began selling more Bath & Body Works products including this body lotion. I had to have it despite the price compared to purchasing in the US.
Its scent has high longevity. I don’t need to have body mist or perfume. Just like the other body lotions from the same brand, it doesn’t moisturize my skin very long and doesn’t hold well on hot weather. The scent is just the good thing for me. But, you know, I’m nearly tired of it. LOL
Bath & Body Works Irresistible Apple
I don’t remember if I blogged about the Bath & Body Works Pear Blossom Body Lotion. Probably in one of my empties posts. Anyway…
I use the Irresistible Apple Body Lotion after I bathe with its shower gel counterpart. It smells of candy apple which is nice, but I’m not really a fan of. ^^;;;
Laura Mercier Alomond Coconut Milk Souffle Body Creme
My favorite and my hg body creme; the one I use when nothing else seems to work for my dry feet, arms, and legs. Only that when I wash my hands, it’s doesn’t seem to come off. I have to make sure I don’t put on too much or things will slip from my hands or my slippers will slide off my feet. 😛
Next thing I love about this body creme is that smell of almond coconut milk. When I found out the local Laura Mercier store in Glorietta had a sale, I made it possible to buy a box of Almond Coconut Milk Souffle Bath & Body products. 🙂
Clairol Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo and Vitress Heat Protect Cuticle Coat and Polish
I’ve used several shampoos already as I look for the one that doesn’t cause me too much hair fall. So far, so good, the Clairol shampoo has been easy on my scalp and hair. It has a soft floral fragrance and is barely foamy or bubbly.
I purchased the Vitress Heat Protect Cuticle Coat and Polish since I’m out of the one I’ve been using for years. I thought it would make the cheapest alternative. It is an oil product supposedly to protect hair from heat styling. I had hoped it would tame my hair somehow, but it doesn’t and it makes my hair oily after 8 or so hours. I tried applying in both small and a wee bit more amounts and the results are the same.
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter
A favorite atm. 🙂
I could say this is the second best to Clinique’s Body Butter for me. This keeps my skin especially my feet moisturized for nearly the whole day. That strawberry scent is… I ♥ it just like the other The Body Shop Body Butters that you just want them all! I haven’t been using this much lately though because of the weather.
Expect an update since most of these are nearly empty. As I also said, I’ll be needing sun protection. Again, my favorites and would be recommendations are the Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Souffle Body Creme and The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter. Both and the rest of the products are available locally. Oh, except Giovanni because I got that as a gift. The former between the recos can be pricey for most, but it’s very worth it. Since using that body creme, I’ve trusted the Laura Mercier brand that I began purchasing their beauty products too. 🙂 The review of the Burt’s Bess Coconut Foot Creme will be in separate post. The Dolly Wink eye makeup remover is, of course, not part of my body skin care routine. 😛
