If you’ve seen my Instagram post on these Lancome Matte Shakers, I mentioned that these shades Completely Nut! and Plum Plum Girl are my first Matte Shakers. The Sephora sale last December 2017 for it was such a good deal that I nearly bought all the available shades. I’m part proud that I only bought 2 shades, but disappointed at my self-control. XD I really ♥ the Matte Shaker formula.
Lancome Matte Shaker in Completely Nut!
Completely Nut! is a nude, brown shade, which is just my type of nude. There are times this would go dark on me. I learned that if I put on a lot, the shade does go darker. What I mean by a lot is when I keep shaking and a lot of product gets on the applicator. I guess it should be the same when I layer. I never have to though because I usually get enough for my lips regardless of how many times I shake the lipstick. Although, right now, I do recall seeing this go darker when I retouch and there’s still some lipstick on me.
Lancome Matte Shaker in Plum Plum Girl
Plum Plum Girl is definitely a plum shade. 🙂 Same with Completely Nut!, it also gets darker. However, I noticed that the more I put, the better its longevity.
Review and swatches
I love both shades. Dark shades like Plum Plum Girl can be patchy or difficult to apply, but I never experienced those with this one. All the things I like with the Lancome Matte Shaker formula are:
✓ Lightweight–Sometimes I forget I have it on
✓ Non-drying and don’t feel like cement
✓ Doesn’t flake or crumble at all even when layered
✓ Easy to reapply
✓ Applicator may seem difficult to use, but it’s not even with Plum Plum Girl
✓ Good longevity. Sometimes it can withstand a meal and several drinks before I need to reapply
Below are swatches of both shades.
I almost bought more when Sephora had promo not too long ago. As much as I wanted to, there’s still so many other lipsticks to try! But I’m sure that if I’ll go to Sephora and swatch them again, I’ll go home with an orange and/or black shades. 😀
I highly recommend the Lancome Matte Shakers. They’re underrated imo. Lancome has long pulled out from the Philippines, but you can still get them from Lancome’s official website or Sephora at USD22 each.
