At last, here’s the review of my favorite (included in my Best of Beauty 2015) Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in Vermillion Red. 😀
The Paint Wash was a gift from the boyfriend (I forgot for what occasion though. LOL!). He let me choose from the Laura Mercier shop because, obviously, he has zero idea on shopping makeup. Back then, these Paint Wash were new. I had to get my hands on one, but not without an initial test. The salesperson had me try the Vermillion Red shade. He said it’s a beautiful red color that would look good on me. Then it was love at first sight! Or should I say try? LOLs. The Paint Wash was everything I wanted it to be. 🙂 Sleeping it off was no help. Soon after, we got that exact shade.
The Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour is “A fresh, creamy coat of intense liquid demi-matte colour with every stroke.”
Vermillion Red is a bright orange-y red liquid lipstick. It is very opaque in just the first swipe. I try not to build up too much as it stays on slightly wet and can transfer or leave stains even on your teeth. My technique to reduce the chance of teeth stains is blot/press tissue between the lips after application and do a minimal retouch if needed. Not much I can do with transfers. 😛
This is a light, nondrying liquid lipstick with an amazing staying power of 6 hours or sometimes longer. Even if I eat or drink, the liquid lipstick seems to stay intact or same as I first applied. All throughout having it on, as I mentioned, it stays wet on the lips; does not dry or stubbornly settle. But it doesn’t bleed or feather.
I really love this Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour!
The slightly flexible wand makes application very easy and is the perfect size for my thin lips.
I just have one issue with the liquid lipstick and the lip glosses of Laura Mercier — It gets messy around the neck. You know the threaded part? Yeah, that. I’m afraid the lipstick would leak, but glad it hasn’t and I hope it never would.
I very much highly recommend the Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Colour. There are only a few shades available — From nudes, pinks, to reds — All wearable for any time and occasion. They are great for for those who prefers minimal to zero need for lipstick retouch. Oh, price is at the expensive range for most. I can’t remember how much exactly this was, but definitely not below PhP1000. All the pros justifies the cost, so I don’t care for it much. I’m considering getting another one. Hmm, probably the Nude Rose.
Have you tried the Laura Mercier Paint Wash range? Your thoughts please. 🙂
