The NARS holiday collection this year is just right up my alley with its punk-style packaging design. Some items are sets of those from permanent items, but some are limited to this collection like the Powermatte Lip Luster, Spiked Audacious Lipsticks, Provocateur and Scandal Eyeshadow Palettes, and–the highlight of this post–the Hot Tryst Cheek Palette.
About the brand
ADDICTION is by Ayako Yoshimura who was the right hand of Francois Nars before becoming NARS’ International Creative Director. In 2009, she released her brand under Kose in Japan.
When a friend told me of Ayako’s work history with Francois Nars, that confirmed why I found ADDICTION reminiscent of NARS makeup.
The only Addiction item I have (at the moment as I want to get more in the future) is the Cheek Polish in 09 Sensually.
Some more background on when I bought the Deborah Hi-Tech Blusher in Mogano — The person who made the request asked me about Catrice. I haven’t tried anything from the brand, but some of their products have good reviews. So I tried all their blushes and they were either too shimmery and powdery–Fall-out was bad. 🙁 The sales lady recommended Deborah since it was at the next aisle. I’ve been curious about the brand too because that’s usually the first I see when I go to SM Makati’s beauty section. 🙂
I wasn’t too impressed by the first set of blushes I tried, but their Hi-Tech Blushers are good! I was sold, so I got one.
Normally, I stick to one palette for a month then move on to another by next because I have so many! I meant to use only the Laura Mercier Holiday 2013 Palette for this month, but I can’t keep myself from also using In theBalm of Your Hand.
When I saw the palette online, I knew I had to have it because it has Mary-Lou Manizer, Bahama Mama, and an Instain blush. Oh my goodness, I so badly wanted it! I made sure I had the dough before I checked Beauty Bar though, so I can quickly purchase it in case they have it. Of course it was a happy ending for moi. 😀
Before I go on my review, just an fyi that the lip colors aren’t included in this review.
Late New Year’s greetings to you lovelies! 😀 Bringing you my first ‘Best of Beauty’ in 2015. I thought hard enough of what products I really liked last year. There’s hair and skin care faves besides makeup, surprisingly. I also found great beauty discoveries last year.
My first Estee Lauder eyeshadow and blush palette that one of my grandmas gave me:
This palette is half a foot by two inches.
This palette includes six (sheen) eyeshadows, a blush, eyeshadow sponge applicator, and a blush brush.
I’ll start this review with the eyeshadow sponge applicator and blush brush.
I’m trying so hard to get rid of my writing slump. I’ve been days late to post this since the international release of the Venomous Villains Collection. Anyway, good luck to me as I try to get my lazy ass back to blogging. 😛 Oh, be warned that this post is graphic-heavy.
The cases alone of these beauty products will make you want them all.
This is one of the makeups my Mum got me from her latest US trip. I’m ♥in’ it.
When she gave this to me, I realized I have more bronzers than blushes. So I’m really happy to have this in my collection.
As you can see, in one pan is a blush and bronzer.
I use a blemish balm cream (bb cream) which makes me look pale, so having the right blush or bronzer is a must. The Revlon Nude blush and bronzer gives me that natural look that I want.
Tis time for another beauty product review! Let me introduce you to my new favorite blush, MAC Pink Swoon.
Let me just say that this blush is sooo great. It’s very light pink which, when applied, makes the girl appear blushing! I think this is better than NARS’ Blush in Orgasm. There is a drawback to this great product though. It will only work on fair skin. Otherwise, the blush wouldn’t show. I already have fair skin and Pink Swoon barely registers on camera. See the photo below.
