In the initial release of the collection with the MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation palette in the official website, the palette sold out fast. I wasn’t sure if it would be available again. I think (and still do) it’s a limited holiday release, so I was a bit disappointed to miss out. To my surprise, Sephora Philippines had it. I quickly ordered the palette the moment Sephora PH announced they already carry the brand. The MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation is my first Pat McGrath eyeshadow palette. 🙂
I got my hands on the CoverGirl TruNaked Nudes and Goldens eyeshadows palettes before they were released here because I couldn’t wait. Actually, I didn’t have a good experience with an affordable/drugstore eyeshadow. It was a quad of neutrals that looked muddy on me and would darken over hours of wear. I didn’t like it. But I hate not using makeup or putting makeup to waste, so I just used the dark shades for my eyebrows. Since then, my eyeshadows of choice were from high-end brands. But the postive reviews on the CoverGirl TruNaked palettes got me intrigued and their swatches were promising.
CoverGirl only had three TruNaked palettes at the time–Nudes, Goldens, and Roses. I would have gotten Roses too, but I wasn’t into pinks. Read on further for a review per palette. 🙂
I love my two shades of Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo. They are the (25) Bad to the Bronze and (80) Creamy Beige. I find myself being able to do my eye makeup faster when I use them for the reason that probably I have more application control. I actually use my fingers. I tried using a brush and it was a big fail. I couldn’t get any color on my lids.
I only got to look closer at the covers of these today. The differences are, besides the obvious labels, the Bad to the Bronze shade has ‘Gel-Cream Eyeshadow’ written on it, while the other is ‘Leather by EYESTUDIO.’ Also, the former is made in China while the latter is in USA.
I did not buy any beauty products in Switzerland because everything there is beyond my budget. But I received from my Aunt these Jasmine by OPI nail polishes and Estee Lauder eyeshadow palettee.
I was able to save money from not shopping until my Changi Singapore Airport layover on my return flight.
Today was really sunny that it was a good time to make swatches. So I did with the palette I’ve been using for some time already. This has also been in my makeup pouch for about two months straight. I use it almost everyday especially for work. It’s a new favorite. I ♥ it. 🙂
The palette contains four each of Estee Lauder Signature and Pure Color EyeShadow. It is a mix of matte and satin shades. Some sheer. Some are buildable for a dramatic eye look yet not to an over-made extent which makes the palette good for either day or night looks.
This Lancôme quad eyeshadow beats all my other eyeshadows. Its longevity is the best.
This quad eyeshadow palette contains four shades some of which, based on research as of writing, is available in singles.
- Suntouched — Frosty, very light brown
- Latte — Matte off-white
- Lezard — Matte dark brown with some micro-shimmers
- Burnt Sand — Frosty light copper
The eyeshadows are housed in a plastic casing that locks tightly. With the light plastic casing, only the eyeshadows make this palette slightly heavy. This is very compact that it’s easy to tuck in your purse or convenient on travel which is a plus for me.
A friend asked me to fill up a survey which was about, if I remember right, makeup and hair care. After I submitted my completed survey, I was given some L’Oreal products. I don’t remember all what I received, but this was one of them.
My first Estee Lauder eyeshadow and blush palette that one of my grandmas gave me:
This palette is half a foot by two inches.
This palette includes six (sheen) eyeshadows, a blush, eyeshadow sponge applicator, and a blush brush.
I’ll start this review with the eyeshadow sponge applicator and blush brush.
I’m trying so hard to get rid of my writing slump. I’ve been days late to post this since the international release of the Venomous Villains Collection. Anyway, good luck to me as I try to get my lazy ass back to blogging. 😛 Oh, be warned that this post is graphic-heavy.
The cases alone of these beauty products will make you want them all.
