(Throw)Back to Basics (and an FOTD)

Welcome to the first Thursday of 2016! Happy new year everyone! Did you get all glam and fabulous when the ball dropped? Me? I was asleep before 12midnight. Does that mean I get to sleep a lot more this year? I hope so! My eyebags are a disaster lately. We’ll get back to that later.

As I said, it’s a Thursday. You know what that means? Throwback! It’s also the start of a new year so I try to tidy things up a bit. Get things BACK to the bare essentials.

If you know me, I’ve been lugging a big pouch of make-up for the past so and so years. Today, however, I’ve managed to reduce my daily make-up/kikay kit to this small black fishnet bag.

Voila! My daily essentials. Aaaand… My OCD is showing.

Not only did I manage to get things into a really small bag (I usually bring my whole room with me), I’ve also reduced the number of cosmetics I usually bring. From almost 20 items to just 9 items.

nine, my favorite number
nine, my favorite number

So here’s what I got:

  1. Paul & Joe Lip Lacquer
  2. Avon Tropical Paradise ultra color lipstick in “Tender Kiss”
  3. (an almost empty) Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in “Earth”
  4. Nichido Girls’ Night Out Eye Pencil in “Pink Diamond”
  5. Max Factor Kohl Pencil in Brown
  6. Maybelline Hyper Curl Volum’ Express Mascara
  7. Heroine Make Kiss Me smooth liquid eyeliner
  8. Charm foundation brush
  9. L’Oreal True Match Super-blendable foundation in “Nude Amber (N7)”

If you noticed, I have a lot of pharmacy products. They’re very cheap, so I don’t have to regret finishing them up too quickly or end up regretting if I find out I’m allergic. BTW, check out Shabby’s review of the Hyper Curl mascara (the link is above). As for the rest of the other items, I’ll get in full detail next time 😉 especially the Heroine Make eyeliner, which is currently my favorite eye liner.

Now if you are wondering what all those nine precious thing do to my face on a regular basis, then here’s a new year treat: my first ever FOTD hahaha!

Yeah, this is my regular/daily make up. Excuse the lack of a smile, I had to look serious since I was sneaking a photo while at the office. Now to deal with those eyebags…
